Gucci Black T-Shirt in Casual Streetwear Style Review: A Five-Photo QC Checklist for a $7.31 Crewneck

We ordered the $7.31 Gucci black crewneck through our agent, weighed it, measured it with calipers and wore it for four days. The missing size chart, not the chest print, is the real risk.

Gucci Black T-Shirt in Casual Streetwear Style Review: A Five-Photo QC Checklist for a $7.31 Crewneck

4.0 / 5Hands-on score

Editor verdict

A $7.31 cotton crewneck with a genuinely clean chest print and a 71 cm body on our size L sample. Fit guidance contradicts itself and no per-size chart exists, so ask the seller for measurements first. 4 / 5 for the price.

What works

  • Cotton main fabric, plain black, printed lettering panel that stayed crisp after one cold wash
  • Loose mid-long body measured 71 cm on our size L sample, inside the listed 65–80 cm window
  • Collar rib and hem held shape across four days of wear and one line-dried wash

Watch-outs

  • No published per-size measurements; the 65–80 cm length bucket is far too wide to size from
  • Listing says loose, buyer forums say Gucci tees run small — the conflict is unresolved
  • Print-thickness QC advice runs both ways: thick and thin lettering are each flagged as fake
Who may find this useful
Buyers who want a black cotton crewneck with a printed chest panel for a haul and will message the seller for chest and body-length measurements before paying.
Who may want to skip this
Anyone who needs a published size chart or a body-close fit, and anyone treating print thickness alone as proof of quality.

We ordered this Gucci black T-shirt through the Kakobuy shopping agent, paid $7.31 against a listed $8.14, and opened it at our Rotterdam desk. SKU 7715745337, colour black, size L. The listing is still marked in stock and offers S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL in black and white.

What the listing actually specifies

The catalog data is thin but specific: cotton main fabric, print technique, crew neck, short sleeves, pullover construction, letter/number/text graphic on the chest, and a body length described as mid-long, 65–80 cm. Styling is filed as casual, gender-neutral, in a Japanese/Korean direction, with a 2025 summer release window. There is no per-size measurement chart anywhere in it, which turned out to shape everything else about this order.

Measured on the bench

We weighed the parcel before cutting the tape and used digital calipers on the collar rib, hem and print relief, plus a tape measure across the chest and down the body.

Shoulder, seam to seam48 cm
Sleeve length from shoulder seam22 cm
Collar rib height2.7 cm

Those are one sample on one bench. Treat 71 cm as evidence that the garment lands inside the listed 65–80 cm window, not as a guarantee that a size L ordered next month will match it.

The print is where the budget visibly goes

The graphic panel is wide and centred, and on our sample the lettering edges were clean rather than feathered under a 5000K lamp. Relief measured at roughly 0.4 mm, which is enough to feel with a fingertip and enough to catch light in a flat-lay photo.

This is the point where most buyer guidance gets shakier than it sounds. The comparison video we sourced states plainly that on replicas the Gucci lettering tends to be thicker than on the authentic shirt, and that observation has been passed around as a QC rule. Authentication guides point the opposite way as well: text that is too thick and text that is too thin both get flagged, on wash tags and neck tags alike. A single thickness observation cannot carry a pass or fail on its own.

Buyer-forum guidance: "for a regular item like Gucci one size up should be fine" — offered for regular, non-oversized Gucci pieces, not for every item.

Two sizing signals that disagree

The listing calls the cut loose. The forum note says Gucci T-shirts generally run small and suggests going up one size for regular Gucci items. Those two claims cannot both be applied blindly to a garment whose only published length figure is a 15 cm-wide bucket, and we did not find a per-size chart to settle it. Ask the seller for chest and length measurements per size before you commit, and ask in centimetres with the tape visible in the photo.

The five QC photos we request before shipping

  1. Front flat-lay, garment squared on a plain floor, so proportions are readable without distortion.
  2. Chest print close-up at a fixed distance, so lettering weight can be compared against a previous batch photo at the same scale.
  3. Collar rib and neck area, checked for a flat, even rib and straight shoulder seams.
  4. Wash tag and any interior label, laid flat — the studio-light detail that survives best on camera.
  5. Tape measure across the chest and down the body, with the seller's own size chart visible in the same frame.

Four days of wear and one wash

We wore it across four days of mixed wear — under an open jacket, over denim, indoors and out — and put it through one cold wash, line dried. The collar rib held its shape, the hem stayed square, printed edges did not lift, and the body length came back within half a centimetre of our pre-wash reading, inside our measurement error. One wash proves very little about a printed panel; that is why we recheck featured garments at the 12-month mark, or sooner if the seller changes batch, price or material.

What we could not confirm

Everything above is about the sample we received. The listing gives no per-size measurements, no stated weight, and no fabric composition beyond "cotton main fabric", and the listing page was last touched on 26 September 2026, well after our order. If a future batch shifts the print scale, the collar rib or the body length, the measurements in this review stop applying. Confirm with warehouse photos, not with our table.

Tobias Lang handles footwear, outerwear and materials reviews at Kakobuytop, checking construction and actual dimensions. Stitch density per centimetre, sole stack height and insole length in centimetres are recorded alongside unboxing and measurement details. Colour and logo placement are compared with warehouse QC images under a 5000K lamp; footwear receives at least seven days of walking, while jackets undergo a wet-weather day and a packability test. Scores are set after the wear trial, with the actual size label recorded beside centimetre measurements to connect sizing information with the observations from use.

Frequently asked

What did you measure on the size L sample?

Chest 52 cm flat, body length 71 cm, hem 53 cm, shoulder 48 cm, sleeve 22 cm, collar rib 2.7 cm, print panel 26 cm wide with roughly 0.4 mm relief. Parcel weight was 182 g. These describe our sample only.

Does this Gucci T-shirt run small?

The listing calls the cut loose across S–XXXL, while buyer-forum guidance says Gucci T-shirts generally run small and suggests sizing up once for regular Gucci items. We could not reconcile the two, so ask the seller for chest and length measurements per size.

Is the chest print a reliable QC checkpoint?

Partly. One comparison source says replica lettering runs thicker, but authentication guides flag text that is too thick and too thin as signs of a fake. Use same-scale photo comparisons against a previous batch, and check the wash tag stitching too.

Honestly the sizing gamble bit me. Ordered M per the usual and it fits like a small. No chart on the listing is a red flag. Print quality is decent, no argument there, but returning through an agent is more hassle than the shirt is worth so it's a pajama shirt now.

Four days of wear and still looks new, that matches mine. One thing the review didn't mention is shrinkage, mine lost a bit of length after the first warm wash so hang dry it. Otherwise a solid beater tee.

Good breakdown but I gotta disagree on the fabric. Mine felt pretty thin, almost see-through against light, so for 7 bucks you get what u pay for. Print itself is fine, black stayed black. Wore it maybe 3 days before a small seam thread popped near the collar. Still not mad at the price.

Finally someone weighed it, 190g is about what I expected for that price. I grabbed the same crewneck in a size L and the shoulders run narrow, so if you lift at all size up. Chest print held up after maybe six washes on cold, no cracking yet. The missing size chart thing is real though, I took a gamble and got lucky.

The caliper measurements are what I came for, thanks. Ask your agent for a close-up of the neck tag and the shoulder seam before shipping, that's where reps usually cut corners. Mine matched the listed chest within a cm so no complaints.
