Our testing steps

Every featured review goes through the same seven steps, in order. If a step fails, we say so in the body of the article rather than quietly dropping it.

  • 1. Pre-order listing check. We compare listing photos, materials wording, size chart and seller history, then save the page as it looked on the order date.
  • 2. Order and agent timing. We log the time the order was placed, when the agent confirmed it, when the seller shipped domestically and when the warehouse posted QC photos.
  • 3. Warehouse QC review. We open the full-size QC images, count pairs or pieces, check labels, stitching, logo placement and colour against the listing, then submit the parcel or request an exchange.
  • 4. Line selection and tracking. We pick the line, note the quoted weight band, and record every tracking event with the local timestamp until delivery in Rotterdam.
  • 5. Desk unboxing. The parcel is photographed sealed, weighed on a 30 kg postal scale, opened, and the packaging is described: bag type, tape, void fill, compression, corner damage.
  • 6. Measurement and wear trial. Calipers and tape for stitch density, sole thickness, hem widths and true-to-size numbers. Then a wear or use period of at least seven days for apparel and footwear, and at least ten days for accessories and hard goods.
  • 7. Scoring and comparison table. Scores are given on the five-point scale and placed in a table against the two closest alternatives we have also tested, with weights and delivered prices shown side by side.

What we record

Delivered weight and dimensions, packaging condition, materials, stitching quality, fit against the listed size chart, wear marks after the trial period, total cost including agent fee and line fee, and days from order to doorstep. Sizing advice is given in centimetres and in the seller's own size labels.

Comparison scope

Identify the ordered size and variant, then compare listing specifications, warehouse measurements and arrival measurements. State measurement landmarks and tolerances. Record packaging condition before opening, and distinguish agent responsiveness from product fit. Wear observations need a duration and conditions. Lighting can affect photo comparisons; an image does not establish hidden composition or long-term durability.

The review identifies the sample, dates, conditions and any steps omitted. A hands-on claim requires documented inspection or use; desk research is labelled. Scoring uses the complete 1-to-5 scale with the criteria and evidence explained, including unfavorable findings and missing information.
