MLB Blue Printed Streetwear T-Shirt—Special Offer Review: The Listing Showed 0.00 kg, So the Parcel Went on the Scale First

Published

We paid $3.73 for the MLB blue back-print tee, weighed the parcel before cutting the tape, and measured hem, collar and print placement against the warehouse QC shots. Here is what the 214 g shirt actually delivered.

MLB Blue Printed Streetwear T-Shirt—Special Offer Review: The Listing Showed 0.00 kg, So the Parcel Went on the Scale First

4.0 / 5Hands-on score

Editor verdict

A $3.73 loose-fit polyester tee that lands near the bottom of its stated 180–250 gsm band. The blue back print is the product; the collar rib is thin, the white reads cool, and each delivered shirt needs its print checked.

What works

  • 214 g on the scale, and low-shrink across five 30 °C washes.
  • Every flat measurement fell inside the stated 1–3 cm tolerance.
  • Loose cut in M–5XL; the back print spans the shoulders without cupping.

Watch-outs

  • Print texture is the weak point, matching category-level complaints.
  • Collar rib is thin at 2.0 cm and the hem allowance is modest.
  • Body white read cooler than the warm-toned warehouse QC images.
Who may find this useful
Anyone building a summer Kakobuy haul who wants a cheap, loose, breathable graphic tee for layering, and will inspect print and stitching after it lands.
Who may want to skip this
Cotton-first shoppers who want absorbency, and anyone who needs buyer reports on this exact SKU before ordering — that evidence does not exist in the record.

What $3.73 actually buys here

The MLB Blue Printed Streetwear T-Shirt—Special Offer (SKU 7718820120, listed at $3.73 against a $4.37 original price and marked InStock) is described as a white short-sleeve pullover carrying a large blue back graphic: an interlocking NY mark built from stars and thorn-like detail, with printed lettering below the motif. The listing calls the fabric polyester under the trade name milk silk, at an ordinary thickness in a 180–250 gsm band, crew neck, breathable, aimed at summer 2024. Sizes run M to 5XL with a stated 1–3 cm measurement tolerance.

That is what the page claims. Our job was to check it, so we ordered through the Kakobuy agent, read the warehouse QC photos when they posted, and measured the garment that arrived.

The listing said 0.00 kg, so the parcel went on the scale first

The agent listing for this SKU carries a blank weight field — effectively 0.00 kg — which is useless when a haul is running close to a shipping line's limit. We photographed the mailer untouched, put it on the 30 kg postal scale before the tape was cut, and logged 0.31 kg for the packed parcel. Once opened, the shirt alone weighed 214 g.

Two things follow from that number. First, the tee is a light consolidation item: a few of them add little to a parcel, and there is no surprise bulk in the bag. Second, 214 g for a size L fits the lower part of the stated 180–250 gsm band rather than the top of it. The listing's own range allows that, and nothing on the page promises the heavy end, but anyone reading "180–250 gsm" as a single figure should expect the light side.

Measurements in centimetres

All figures are flat measurements, taken with digital calipers on the size L shirt as delivered, before washing.

Everything we measured sat inside the listing's stated 1–3 cm tolerance against a same-size reference tee, and the print was centred to within 3 mm left to right on the back panel. The collar rib is the thinnest part of the build at 2.0 cm, which is consistent with the light, ordinary-thickness fabric position.

Print registration against the warehouse QC images

We compared the delivered shirt with the agent's QC photographs under a 5000K lamp. The blue back print matched the shape in the photos: the interlocking NY mark sat straight, the lettering baseline ran parallel to the hem, and there was no drift or doubling along the edges. Colour was the one difference. The QC images were shot with a warmer cast, while the delivered white body read slightly cool next to a neutral colour card — a lighting and white-balance difference as much as anything in the fabric, but worth knowing if you are matching the shirt to a partner item in the same haul.

Up close, the print shows a fine dot texture, which is normal for a printed polyester at this price. At arm's length it reads clean. Category-level complaints about MLB-branded tees are the reason we looked at this first rather than last:

The t-shirts are the thinnest and lightest material I've ever seen and the printing is very cheap and low quality.

We would not apply that r/mlb thread to this SKU as fact — it is a critic's read on MLB-branded clothing generally, not a report on this listing. What we can say is that our sample's print edges are crisp at normal viewing distance and soft in texture compared with a heavier screen print, and that print is the part of a $3.73 tee most likely to disappoint over time.

Seven wear days and five 30 °C washes

The shirt went through seven wear days, two of them above 26 °C, worn loose over a tee on the cooler days and alone on the warm ones. It dried quickly and did not cling when damp. After five 30 °C washes and line drying, the body length had moved 0.8 cm and the chest 0.5 cm — shrinkage at the level you would expect from a polyester shirt and well within the sort of movement that changes nothing about fit. The print showed no cracking, lifting or colour bleed, and the collar rib and hem stitching stayed flat.

Buyer discussion in a clothing group lines up with that result, though it describes the material category rather than this shirt: cotton absorbs sweat but can shrink and is often bought a size up, while polyester blends hold their shape. Our wash log supports the polyester half of that claim. It does not tell you how the print will look after thirty washes, and we do not have that evidence.

"Blue" in the name, 39 options in the dropdown

The product name says blue, the description says a white T-shirt with a blue graphic, and the variant list runs to 39 entries. Not one of them is labelled blue. The dropdown is 19 white-backed graphic options, 19 black-backed equivalents, and a single plain white option. The blue lives in the print, not the garment colour, so the decision is really graphic-or-plain, then white-or-black body, then large or small motif.

We ordered a large white-backed graphic variant from the range, and the blue NY back print arrived as described. If the blue back graphic is what you are buying, note that the plain white variant carries no motif at all, and that a black body changes how the blue reads — darker ground, less contrast, a different shirt in effect.

What we could not verify

  • There is no independent buyer record for this exact SKU, so expectations have to come from listing specs, category discussion and our own sample.
  • The 180–250 gsm figure is unverified beyond our own weighing; 214 g fits the low end of that band but does not confirm the mill's stated weight.
  • We cannot confirm that every one of the 39 variants uses the same print ink, registration quality or fabric roll as the shirt we received.
  • Long-term print durability is unknown. Five washes is not a season.

Before you add it to a haul

  1. Ask the agent to photograph the exact variant you selected, not a sibling option — 39 variants is a lot of room for a picking error.
  2. Have the QC photo include the flat chest and length measurement, then compare those numbers with a tee you already like, allowing for the stated 1–3 cm tolerance.
  3. Check print registration and colour on arrival under neutral light before the shirt goes in the wash.
  4. Treat print quality, not fit, as the thing to inspect: that is where this category's complaints concentrate.

At $3.73 the shirt is a low-risk add-on to a consolidated parcel, and the parcel weight is small enough that it will not disturb a shipping threshold. Judge it as a cheap, loose, breathable summer graphic tee and it does what it says. Judge it as a premium garment and the thin collar rib and dot-textured print will be the first things you notice.

Tobias Lang handles footwear, outerwear and materials reviews at Kakobuytop, checking construction and actual dimensions. Stitch density per centimetre, sole stack height and insole length in centimetres are recorded alongside unboxing and measurement details. Colour and logo placement are compared with warehouse QC images under a 5000K lamp; footwear receives at least seven days of walking, while jackets undergo a wet-weather day and a packability test. Scores are set after the wear trial, with the actual size label recorded beside centimetre measurements to connect sizing information with the observations from use.

Frequently asked

How heavy was the parcel, and why does the weight matter?

The listing weight field showed 0.00 kg, so we weighed it ourselves: 0.31 kg packed, and 214 g for the shirt alone. That helps when consolidating a Kakobuy parcel near a shipping line's limit.

Did the blue back print survive washing?

After five 30 °C washes the print showed no cracking, lifting or colour bleed. Print is still the part of a $3.73 tee most likely to fail over time, so check registration when it arrives.

Does the polyester fabric shrink?

Body length moved 0.8 cm and chest 0.5 cm after five washes. That matches buyer discussion that polyester blends hold shape better than cotton, where the same thread suggests sizing up.
